There is war and death, but you are here.

There is famine and devastation, but you remain.

There is plague and sickness, but you are not moved.

There is suffering and poverty, but you have not left us.

While the world will sit in judgment, proclaiming that you do not care,

The faithful know better.

In the face of the lions, you give us strength.

In the fiery furnace, you give assurance.

In the shadow of death, you give us your presence.

Your small, still voice tells us, All will be well.”

You have not abandoned us to the wiles of the devil.

You have not left us to suffer alone.

You have not forsaken us to death or the garve.

You are with us.

And with You, and You alone, is there peace.

A peace not given by the world, or through her means.

Even in the midst of war, disease, poverty, and death,

You are with us, giving us peace.

Amen.
