Praise the Lord.

Praise the Lord in the tightest heavens.

Praise the Lord in the lowest valleys of the earth.

Praise the Lord.

For He alone is good.

Yes, He alone is faithful.

He alone hears the prayers of his people.

For He alone is God.

Heavenly Father,

In these uncertain times, we look to you.

In these desperate times, we search your face.

In these unprecedented times, we long for your consistency.

In these dark times, we desire your light.

Do not hide away your face.

Do not keep yourself from your people as they cry out.

Do not withhold your goodness and grace.

Do not stop pouring out your Spirit on us.

Hear us now, Lord.

We need you.

Heavenly Father,

We entered a new season, a new month in the calendar; but nothing has changed.

We are still confined to our homes. Many of us still are without jobs. Fear of what is known, the paranoia of the unknown, both grip our hearts and squeeze. The pandemic of COVID-19 has turned our world upside down. And there is no easy or quick return to “normal” life.

What are we to do, Lord? How are we do keep going in the midst of this? Continue reading “Weekly Prayer: May 3rd, 2020”

Dear God,

While some question, while some wonder, while some doubt,

Help me to hold fast.

While some may turn away, while some may retreat, while some may leave you,

Help me to cling to you.

While some hate you, while some despise you, while some will give up on you,

Help me to love you more.

While some look for signs, while some look for imperical evidence, while some look to put their hands in the nail marks,

Help me to trust without sight.

These are strange times. Times where we are called into action to do nothing. Times where we are called to be a body of believers who cannot be together. Times where the present is the most uncertain part of our future. These are strange times.

Where is the rock? Where is the steady ground to put our feet? Where is the unshakable foundation that we build our lives on, especially in these strange times? Where are You to be found, my God?

You are closer than our very breath. You are near to the broken and heavy-hearted. You see those that are hurt and in need. You are here.

In the midst of the madness, in the whirlwind of chaos, in these strange times, Lord, remind us that we are not alone. You are with us, even now.

Praise your name.

This place is a mess…and still, You are here.

This world is chaos driven…and your peace remains.

This planet is teeming with death…and you continue to give us Life.

Help us to see that. Continue reading “Weekly Prayer: March 15th, 2020”
